Swiss "Fight Back" Against EU Food Supplements Directive
The media are reporting great news for the health freedom movement!
In direct rebellion against the severe anti-vitamin law already passed in the European Union, (the EU Food Supplements Directive), the first European country to protect complementary and alternative medicine within its own Constitution is Switzerland – with over 67 percent of voters in favour of the new Constitutional article.
The new Constitutional article states that their own federal government will ensure that, within their scope of jurisdiction, complementary medicine will be taken into consideration. In reality there is already a greater recognition of natural therapists in Switzerland.
With this article being passed it demonstrates Switzerland’s commitment to expand health care choices and eliminate conflicts between orthodox medicine and alternative or innovative therapies. In fact, professorships in alternative medicine are now being created in Swiss Universities so that, in the future, medical students will be able to add complementary therapies to their medical training and be able to legally apply them in their professional practices. The Higher Education and Training Awards Council have already begun validating complementary therapy classes.
We salute the government and citizens of Switzerland for taking this stand and while we do expect to see their rights challenged in the European courts, we commit to fully support them in their efforts to maintain this position and protect the rights of their citizens to have complete access to the benefits of ALL available science and therapies.
