US Scientists Confirm Beta-Carotene Associated with Significant Reduction of Uterine Cancer Risk.

According to new scientific research reported in Cancer Causes and Control magazine every 1,000 microgram increase in antioxidants, in proportion to the individual’s caloric intake, resulted in as much as a 12 percent reduction of cancer risk. Further, an increased intake of vitamins C and E and beta-carotene may reduce the risk of cancer of the uterus, according to a new review and meta-analysis of the science to date.

Similarly, for every 50 milligram of vitamin C per 1,000 *kcal the risk of endometrial cancer was reduced by 15 per cent, and for every 5 milligram increase of vitamin E per 1,000 kcal the risk of endometrial cancer was reduced by 9 per cent.
 
*Kcal – the unit of energy equal to 1,000 calories
 
Endometrial (lining of the uterus) cancer is the fifth most common cancer among women worldwide - around 7,000 American women die from the disease annually - but incidence of this form of cancer varies more than 10-fold worldwide.
